What are we treating? Clear up long-held beliefs, clarify terminology and review current evidence for assessment and physiotherapy treatment of SIJ and pelvic girdle pain.
Sacroiliac joint pain, SIJ dysfunction, SIJ instability, upslip, nutation, pregnancy-related pain, pelvic girdle pain, pelvic girdle dysfunction, pubic symphysis dysfunction…..What’s the difference? Does it matter? How do we treat them?
Listen to Dr Mark Laslett talk about the distinction between pain, instability, pathology and dysfunction. Start using appropriate terminology and clinical tests to identify those conditions that need specific management. Hear the evidence for (and against) physiotherapy assessment and treatment techniques and learn to target your treatment for specific patients for more effective management.
