By the end of this lesson you will be able to:

  • Describe and understand the difference between somatic referred and radicular symptoms.
  • Accurately perform a screening examination of the cervical spine for upper limb referred pain of cervical origin.
  • Understand how to test the sensory and motor innervations of C1-T4 nerve roots & the major peripheral nerves of the upper limb (axillary, radial, ulnar, median, musculocutaneous nerves).
  • Understand and list the criteria for imaging & medical referral for cervical spine conditions.
