Access: Lifetime of site | Cost: $95.00 USD
You will be redirected to John Cronin's learning site to register for this course. Your email address will be provided to Physio Academy for the purposes of ongoing communications about courses for physiotherapists.
This course will teach you about the muscle-tendon properties that underpin force production and how to assess those properties to help you design rehabilitation programmes that target specific tissues.
Course registration includes exclusive access to “Rehabilitation Principles for Connective Tissue in Injured Muscle”.
A course for anyone wanting to understand muscle-tendon mechanics to improve assessment and rehabilitation of specific musculotendinous tissues.
EXCLUSIVE BONUS for physiotherapists signing up through Physio Academy:
In addition to the online course, you will also receive FREE:
- Recorded webinar with John Cronin & Angela Cadogan discussing “Rehabilitation Principles for Connective Tissues in Injured Muscle”
- Downloadable webinar handout.
More About This Course
Understanding normal muscle mechanics is key to designing effective rehabilitation programmes. To rehabilitate musculotendinous tissues, you must first understand what tissues are responsible for force production and transmission, how this occurs and how specific tissues adapt to different loads. Then you can target specific tissues through focused assessment and rehabilitation.
What You Will Learn
This course will teach you about the muscle-tendon properties that underpin force production, how to assess those properties, and design programmes to target specific tissues. Better understanding enables a more specific approach to rehabilitation to improve muscle and tendon function.
This course is designed to be completed over four-weeks - at your own pace. We suggest planning 2-3 hours per week to fully review the course material, complete the case studies, try the exercises and integrate the theoretical and practical learning into your daily practice. Learn by doing.
The resources only work if you work! All course activities are optional, but encouraged to support learning.
In this course you will learn:
- The structure and function of the components of the muscle-tendon unit
- How each component contributes to strength and power
- How to identify weakness of a muscle-tendon component through targeted testing
- How to design programming that will improve strength through targeted training
Additional topics covered:
- How to get good data when you test for strength
- How to determine the level of variability in your test results
- Introduction to the Three Component Model
-
